How exactly does the life letters service work?
- Once you place your order, we immediately ship you our Start Writing Now Kit, which includes everything you need to get started writing your life letters:
- Mylifeletters.com member welcome letter and instructions for submitting letters, managing your account and releasing your letters.
- The Gift of a Letter – an insightful book about the magic of letter writing, by Alexandra Stoddard.
- Twelve sheets of our custom quality stationery, with matching envelopes.
- Postage for your first life letter.
- Tips and suggestions to help get you started, organize your thoughts, keep up with your letter writing, and get creative with your letters.
- After writing a life letter, you put it in one of the specially coded envelopes provided to you in the starter kit and simply drop it in the mail to the Mylifeletters.com Secure Storage facility. As long as your contents fit inside the provided envelope, you may include momentos such as photographs or ticket stubs.
- When we receive your letter, we enter it into our system and immediately place it into the slot of your designated secure storage container. Your letters are never opened or stored with other letters, and your container is never opened. We also send you an email confirming receipt of each letter. You can confirm letter receipt, check your letter inventory, order additional envelopes, stationery and manage other account information through our secured member website at any time.
- Finally, based on your letter release instructions or upon your written request, we ship your designated storage container to your designated recipient (for example, your child or grandchild). Your letters are shipped via insured and trackable shipping in the container they have been stored in all along, virtually eliminating the chance of lost, misplaced or mixed up letters.
